Caddisflies (Trichoptera, Insecta)as Bioindicator of Water Quality Assessment in a Small Stream in Northern Thailand

The influence of environmental variables and the potential as bioindicators larval stages species Trichoptera were evaluated in a small stream northern Thailand from January to November 2017. A total 1,191 individual caddisfly larvae belonging 7 families 13 genus found. family Glossosomatidae most abundant, followed by Hydropsychidae Calamoceratidae. Glossosoma, Hydromanicusand Hydropsyche abundant this study. Results CCA ordination showed that dissolved solids, electrical conductivity, water temperature important factors affecting abundance diversity larvae. Changes may indicate changes physicochemical owing urbanization or other anthropogenic. results order Trichoptera, identified level, can potentially be used assess quality status freshwater ecosystems. This study suggested richness aquatic insects conservation value habitats because their significant responses factors.
